Use this if you are a plant breeder, to calculate the value to consumers of particular traits in ricebean. Enter the values for up to five varieties, and the program will calculate a value for the CPI.
The CPI is an index derived from a hedonic price function (Buergelt et al, 2010), so allowing an early assessment of the monetary value of a new variety.
The higher the value calculated, the more acceptable the variety is to consumers in India and Nepal. Values above 10 should be particularly appealing to them.
